But I’m about to jump on a call with a defense attorney where I’ll have to be super tough and mean because I want to depose his client’s adjuster regarding the bad faith handling of my client’s claim.

Bad faith is like the holy grail of bad words in our industry. It sends up red flags everywhere.
I would compliment the defense attorney on the adjuster handling the claim. Then, I'd request a deposition date simply to clarify some decisions made to make your client understanding and happy about how things were handled.
After the identification process has started in the actual depo, then start hitting the adjuster with bad faith allegations and questions.
