The problem is that these brats grow up to be entitled assholes because they were never told "NO" and were always told how “special“ they are. They are then unleashed on society and the rest of us have to deal with their pampered and entitled mentality.

You’re right. There’s never been a moment in history where some kids are the “haves” and the others are the “have nots” and parents had to navigate that conversation. Taylor Swift did this.

Its's absurd to think that every child at the TS concert is never told "NO".
It's pretty obvious you don't have kids and if I'm wrong and you do but you don't tell your kid how special they are to you regularly you have much bigger concerns in your future than hard working kids that excel academically, socially, athletically and spiritually being able to experience rare events, experiences and places.

This is where I am but I’m still struggling dropping that amount of money
Oh, I get it. As much as my daughter wants to go, I am not sure I would have the stones to spend that kind of money on it but I don't think I would.
We bought 4 at face value and the plan was for me to take the daughter and two friends for her birthday. A few months ago I made an offer to just take the daughter and we would sell the other two tickets and I would split the earnings with her and she declined.
At 14 I probably would have opted for the $2500 but she declined and although I disagreed, I respected that decision.
$4k for us can be a vacation so I would be hard-pressed to spend that kind of cheese on one night BUT then again, I splurged and flew home for all three of us in Businees / First class on EVA Air when that could have provided a week somewhere on vacation as well and alot of people may think that's stupid.
I won't ever judge someone for buying tix on the resale for this show I just don't know if I could but again, I wouldn't sell mine for market value right now either because to me, the night is worth more than what the equivalent cash value is.

If you go to the ticket office AFTER the opening act starts playing, but BEFORE the main act starts, they'll sell you the tickets at half price.
OP, do this. Zero chance this plan fails. You’ll be Da Man!

Are these tickets selling at 2k a pop for nosebleed seats?
Surely, this is secondary market, eh?
Sorry daughter and wife, if you couldn't get in when tickets were released by Ticketmaster/LiveNation, you're out of luck. Those tickets were probably, AT MOST, $200/each retail.

All of this nonsense just so people can post pictures on social media of themselves attending a concert.
That’s truly what is driving the $2000 ticket prices. It’s sad….pathetic actually.
Just for fun, here are some direct posts from the thread the other day about someone who paid $4,000 for a signed guitar by Taylor Swift only to smash it with a hammer and put the video online. Now, I do want to be fair and also acknowledge that there were many posts talking about how much of a waste of money it was as well.
And before I copy and paste these quotes, a fun side note: the guitar wasn't signed by Taylor Swift so the guy paid $4,000 for a fake signature on a guitar just to virtue signal. But yes, paying (admittedly) a lot of money for tickets to her concert is pathetic.
Without further ado...

Funny enough, the same poster had this sentiment regarding spending money on tickets to the show:
quote:
Didn’t she do a concert film on Disney? Just watch that instead. Poor parenting and setting a bad example if you spend that much on a concert.
Makes complete sense. Poor parenting and setting a bad example to take your kids to an expensive concert. Better to spend that money on a fake guitar and hammer - they'll be Rhodes Scholars!

I agree. I wanted a lot of unreasonable things as a kid. I was told no. This would have been one of those things. Hell I don’t even spend 4500 dollars on myself outside of some major purchase which would hold equity.

I would pay that to have her sing in my bedroom.

We got Taylor Swift tickets at face value during the general sale. However we had to give them up when Taylor supported Kamala. My daughter was upset but I tried to explain this election is more important and you have to stand for something. We sold the tickets and donated money to the Trump campaign.

for those prices you could have flown all 3 of you to Europe and seen her concert
Posted on 10/2/24 at 5:28 pm to hey benji
A person has got to be out of their mind to spend that kind of money on a single performer concert that lasts a few hours long.
People have their priorities upside down who think that is a reasonable price to pay for just a part of one night's entertainment. The same people who bitch about the cost of groceries, gas, rent/house notes-------------then go and buy this crap to make a multimillionaire even richer.

Buy the tickets, then make your wife and kid watch you tear them up and flush them down the shitter.
(I don't suggest actually doing this)
