From the article. fricking socialists.

quote:

A second part of the experiment is about what "redistribution of wealth can look like in practice," Wey said, noting that extra money collected -- the $18 difference -- from those who do pay $30, has been pooled. During the survey, black, Asian, Latino or other minorities are asked if they want to leave their emails, so that they could share in a portion of that money.

hello good people.

i have a week left at the Roux Carré, in New Orleans, where i have been working for the last month serving Nigerian food and discussing racial wealth/ income disparity.

come through, and spread the word to your friends.

the food is mostly really delicious (a few times it's been just "good" ;)) but the conversation around racial wealth/income disparity is necessary and is worth engaging with.

in closing... this series is attempting to expand the application of food beyond sustenance and pleasure, and into the territory of the worthy and important.

fela said music cannot be for enjoyment, neither can food. see you (or you momma, or your friends or your momma's friends) all this week until march 4.

(wait i fricked that up. it sounds like im saying if you come through i promise to deprive you of joy and ruin your afternoon lunch... that's not what i'm saying, unless that's your thing, then that's exactly what i'm saying. know what i'm saying?)

I bet they don't want to have a discussion about the primary reason that there is an economic disparity between black people and other races. Single parent homes

I don't really care about that either. I felt the same way about the gay wedding cake issue. Take your business elsewhere.

Do you think his motivation is to prove black people are better than white people or vise versa?

not triggered at all

private business should be able to sell to whomever they want at whatever price they want

and consumers have the choice to spend their money there or not

and if the company fails, it's their own fault

i just don't want to hear claims of racism or white supremacy if stunts like this backfire

Triggered by a place that no one is going to nor has any plans to go.

The definition of shite they should ignore.

I mean, I'm not triggered. I just hate when restaurants become politically charged, on both sides. A bbq place in SC did the same crap when the owner slapped the Confederate flag all over his products when that became a political hot topic.

I just want to enjoy good food.

you clearly cant say it is to off set economic inequality if asians get a benefit..so what is the motivation

Right. I'm all for a good social experiment like the affirmative action bake sale, but the motivation behind this seems ignorant at best.
