Seems a bit knee jerk, but you seem to travel a lot.

Who appoints these freaking dumb shits?

Just saying it is week one and the problems seem intermittent and correctable.
Now, if they are incompetent in fixing then yeah.
Had they forgot to install stairs or not connected the outlets on the chairs it would be more unexpected.

Yeah, they can correct a lot of these problems to a certain degree in the short term.
In the long term, it will be for the most part totally fixed with the flyover.

Who in the hell thought it would be a good idea to shite on the frequent MSY traveler by removing the parking passes that many of us have used for years?
They don't care about the frequent traveler who values things like ease of access. They assume we will continue to travel through there since it has way more destinations than BTR or GPT.
The airport is designed to bring in more conventions and tourism. Things like art and restaurants are apparently important to these groups--they don't care about having to wait in a security line for 30 minutes once or twice a year.

Nailed it. The most infuriating part is what was possible.

Other than having nothing but connections, GPT would be my choice as well if I lived on the Northshore. Fast everything and even free parking.

Depends on where to. I have found similar times/destinations for $50 cheaper. Haven't compared prices enough to know what the norm is.

Wait, wait, what is this parking pass that you speak of?

The only complaints about the physical facility itself, are a broken belt (which is repairable) and the need for more covered areas outside, which is fixable. The uber stuff will go away once the drivers stop acting stupid and cutting each other off in the staging lot.
To say that it is "just totally screw it up" is some insane snowflakey dramatics.

You know I flippantly suggested in this thread this morning that they move Southwest back the old terminal.
The more I think about it the more I think that is a GREAT IDEA and would save us hundreds of millions.
We wouldn't need the changes to the interstate as the old road infrastructure would take a lot of traffic off the new terminal.
We wouldn't need near as many rental car buses.
We would have a lot of room to expand at the new terminal.
Southwest could run the terminal as they see fit.
We could join the big boys and have two terminals. If need be to get it done we could do some ego stroking and name the new one the "Mitch" terminal and the old one after some new carpet and paint the "LaToya" terminal.
It would make flying into and out of MSY so easy.

It would keep the smell of poors out of the new terminal too

Except that SWA has already spent a ton of their own money for their costs in the new terminal.
We have locals who can't figure out how to stand in line. You expect them to be able to figure out what terminal to go to, especially if the two don't connect?
I don't fly as much as many of you do, are there any airports that have two terminals that don't connect in any way?
Not to mention you would now have a new terminal that is too big, and an insane increase in operating and construction costs, all of which the airlines are funding.
Hey, I have a better idea. Let's take the old terminal and use it to film movies, and give out more film credits.

Whatever. Southwest is the best airline flying.

SWA was more than willing to stay/move to the C/D concourse.
Delta also was more than willing to stay especially after more details about the new airport came out.... also they were in a prime section of the old airport.

.....frick that STD petri dish called NOLA.
Posted on 11/11/19 at 1:54 pm to dupergreenie
I don't see how any of the airlines are benefitting at all from the new terminal.
It would be really good if SWA had its own concourse/terminal. What they helped do at Love Field we could have done.

There is an elevator, just not a working elevator
