don’t drink so doesn’t effect me, but like why would she do that? So no booze at stores, restraunts etc?
Pretty sure this declaration just gives her the power to limit those sales. She does havt to actually use it.

C'mon NOLA get your shite together and get rid of this useless POS...you'll thank me later

Technically correct, yet somehow I don't believe she did this just so she'd "have the power" and not use it.
And how can she openly say frick you to 2A here?

I think in rare circumstances you'd need to ban alcohol. idk what those circumstances are but I think they just want the document on file just in case...?
btw not defending her bc I think she's dumber than hell but I bet this type of document is fairly common across the country

Typical lib filth power grab.
Exactly nothing on that list will prevent/treat corona.
However, the right of the people to bear arms & defend themselves must be made illegal immediately!
IT'S A PANDEMIC DONCHA KNOW!
And since when did anybody in NOLA gave a Damn about alcohol consumption??
Oh, must be THE PANDEMIC.
Evil godless communists bent on destroying our freedoms. Rot in hell mayor bitch.

I'd imagine most emergency declarations have some type of power like this. Basically the ability to enact martial law.
Who knows what she'll actually enforce?

If it's a "we don't know why we'd need it, but we have it just in case" situation, it's not needed at all.
If there's a situation that necessitates this, undesirables will just loot them anyways.

Can emergency declarations from a fricking city mayor supercede the rights of citizens? Commandeering private property?
Posted on 3/13/20 at 6:07 am to MrLSU
You want riots? Cause that's how you get fricking riots.

I honestly don't know, but martial law is pretty serious stuff if it needs to be.

Right, but a mayor can't declare it. Only President can federally or the governor at the state level.
I would imagine any declaration from a city mayor would be irrelevant in either case.

Hopefully we won't have to find out.

This is retarded, dangerous, and most likely illegal.
Theres a constitutional amendment keeping the govt from occupying any property it feels so compelled.
You can't really sign that away with a stroke of a pen by a banana republic mayor, though that obviously won't stop her from trying.

I’m not an attorney, but I don’t see how it can be legal. No way a mayor’s declaration can supersede the constitution.
