Anyone want to bet Vappie is on the list?

If you look at the last results of the mayor election most people didn't vote. I forget the exact numbers, but you can argue that most of her votes came from city employees who ultimately she is the boss of.

The majority of residents do though. She won with 65% of the vote, which is a landslide
28% of the eligible voters came out
“Majority of residents” lmao

Very inaccurate. The vast majority of New Orleanians, of all races, have utter disdain for the mayor and the bullshite she pulls.

How can a candidate for the job of Police Chief have a bad enough background that a check would scare them off????
To be a top cop, I'd think you'd have to be squeaky clean to even think of applying for the job.

That’s like illegal but it’s Nola

And what will be done? Not a got damn thing. That’s what’s truly sad about this and so many other situations like it. She, and all like her, or morally corrupt.
They tried a recall but the recall rules are so absurdly written that it’s nearly impossible to succeed. And that’s not even counting New Orleans voter rolls that aren’t ever purged. And to take it a step further, a legislator wrote a bill this past session to make recalls easier and require a percentage of the voters who actually voted in the elected officials election…low & behold it did not advance out of committee. Louisiana politicians can coast for 4 years once they get in office, they know this. They write the rules to protect themselves.

I'm no Jeff Landry fan, but maybe, just maybe, if he is Governor he could put the whole city under the rule of a keeper / receivership.
ETA: that worked in Detroit.

Can he do Baton Rouge and Shreveport also?
These are close runner-ups.

Further proof the NOLA has devolved into a 3rd world status.

The answer is they can’t. The reason Teedy doesn’t want to release names is she has incompetent and woke black people in mind for the position (probably most are internal).
For the public to see how few qualified law enforcement types want the job or the media to create a groundswell against the candidates is a scenario she wants to avoid.

Every metric imaginable says that you are wrong.

It's not like the public would want their Police Dept Superintendent to be a stand up person..... wtf?
Why would she say something so stupid publicly?
Lol... these are the same people that replaced the Andrew Jackson statue with a giant afro pick!

That city is dead and will never return to any former glory it ever had. If it ever actually had any that is. The culture is gone and the crime is up. Any charm it once had came from locals that have been replaced with a bunch of lesbians from Portland. Frankly I hope the next hurricane just destroys it for good.

If so many folks didn't like her, another candidate would have ran and more folks would have voted.
