I laughed when he said the same thing. I honestly don't think it's an invalid observation. I was just initially surprised by it. Just like the guy with the comment about importing Mexicans.

We'll see. I think it'll happen eventually and will probably be good for the city. That's what matters.

It doesn't, I'm just voicing it and appear to be in the minority.

I didn't think the race card would show up in the Uber debate. Even more surprised it was played in Ubers favor.

BTW, anyone notice that "Andre Champagne" filled out a card to speak?

NO politicians shut it down because the cab companies pay them off.

The city is FAR too corrupt to get something like Uber.

So that's it? It's over? No uber in New Orleans. I missed the tail end.

Scruffy has no clue.

He hasn't been watching. He was just commenting on NO's corruption.

taxi cabs don't want competition and the politicians who the cab companies pay under the table are lobbying for them.

I didn't catch the end but it looked like they were all voting along the same lines and I know several of the council members are very pro UBER so there is no way it just got shot down

They forwarded the Ordinance as written to the full Council "without comment" for a vote.

Was that the ordinance that stated Uber Black could come and operate but they would have these ridiculous minimum prices?

I am not sure what the current language says but I am sure it will get amended again in the full Council or get sent back to Committee.
