They’re still showing the entire French quarter with power on their app. They must have one hell of a grid there.

Friend in the quarter texted about 30 minutes ago saying they lost power

Anyone in the New Orleans/Metairie/Kenner area see reports of any flooding?
Posted on 8/29/21 at 7:23 pm to redbaron
Just heard the roof of the retirement community on metairie rd has been destroyed, there are about 40 residents that are currently there they’re trying to evacuate to the St. Francis church across the street.

I have video of Streets off Claiborne from Tulane to McMain under water.
We made a few calls recently and it’s mostly wind damage uptown.
Had a guy we pulled out after his house collapsed with him in it on LaSalle and Upperline.
I heard some of the pumps are out, so we can expect flooding for sure in the next few hours. I’ll update as we go out.

I’ve been watching a live stream of some guys driving around NOLA. Sorry, my geography knowledge of NOLA is terrible, but they ad to turn around a couple of times in Mid City and another area close by. They’re on I-10 West now, maybe a couple of miles west of Broad(?) and it’s flooded. There’s a car almost completely submerged they’re trying to get to. This is devastating. It’s under an overpass if that helps you guys with location.
