There is a huge abandoned building at this intersection that is near the river, what was this before it was abandoned?

It’s an old Naval Support building built in 1919.

That naval station was open until at least the late 90s. Can't remember when it closed.

Edit: I Googled and it closed in September 2011. More recent than I remembered.

Right down the street there is good Barbecue at The Joint.

Then get drinks at Bacchanal.

Barbecue was ok but the place is not pleasant to hang out at. fricking flies everywhere and shitty seating.
