We just need bigger levees, right? Mayor of Lafitte already whining.

quote:

Water levels along Louisiana’s coast are expected to rise between 1½ and 2 feet by 2050, and could rise over 4 feet by 2100, according to new estimates of the effects of global warming on sea level rise announced Tuesday by federal officials. The 2100 estimates for the state are slightly higher than in a 2017 version of the report, which expected Louisiana to see about 3.87 feet of rise by the end of the 21st century. The report, authored by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and NASA, also lays bare the havoc global warming will wreak along the nation's coastlines in the next few decades, predicting an average sea rise of 1 foot by 2050 and 2 feet by 2100.

At the maximum rate, that's close to 1 inch per year.

Back to global warming again I guess. Funny how all of these rich politicians keep buying coastal properties too.

bullshite however subsidence is a real thing as the land isn’t getting built up by spring floods since the levees were installed.

Choosing between having to live in a pre-industrialized society or my grandkids having to move further inland in their 60s? Sorry kids

Leaving out the causes for this, that's still massively detrimental to Louisiana coastal communities. If you think wetland loss is bad now, wait until the water rises by an inch or two. Those inches make all the difference in coastal wetland biomes.

This will not happen. If Louisiana loses coastline it’s because we aren’t rebuilding it due to the MS river flooding.

These climate alarmist have overestimated the impacts of global warming every step of the way by 10 fold.

I'm sure they can dredge up enough silt and shite in the wetlands to keep New Orleans as a nice little island where you can piss in public and shoot people without getting in trouble.

Plus, they dig enough canals and it'll be easier to strip mine Louisiana of all its resources.

We were supposed to be under 30 ft of water by now... from when Al Gore showed up to save the world in the 90s.

People truly do not comprehend the volume and magnitude of nature and the MS river specifically.

We don’t have enough money to move 1/10 of the water the MS does

Eta
Edited for my complete whiff on sarcasm.
