It would be stressful, everyday you perform routine tasks(like pulling over a vehicle), and it might be your death. I wouldn't want any part of that job.

It wasn’t a joke to those 6 families

I back the blue for the most part, but they know the risk when they sign up to be a cop. That doesn’t give them the rights to be dicks.

Definitely a job that doesn't pay what your life may be worth

I don’t know how people do it. I respect that job so much. I can’t imagine pulling over a vehicle tinted up and you can’t see inside

I saw a compilation video once of several cops that had been shot/killed while on duty. It was very disturbing. Not sure if it's still on YouTube or not.

They aren't "paranoid". They know full well their job is dangerous, and it has only been made more dangerous due to current events and Democrat Mayors and City Councils that are actively tying their hands.

You would be paranoid too if half the country was pushing propaganda to support killing you

This is why I love to see stories like this:

Washington teens given medal for helping an officer under attack from DUI suspect

quote:

AUBURN, Wash. – The King County Sheriff’s Office is honoring five young men after coming to the rescue of one of its deputies.
The teenagers were each given the Medal of Heroism Award by King County Sheriff Mitzi Johanknect for their actions that quite possibly saved the life of a deputy.

It would be a very stressful job, and we are sending unprepared people out to deal with the public.

"Get on the ground...get on the ground...get on the ground."

Well, the mother fricker is on the ground. Yet, with the adrenaline running, this officer doesn't realize that his commands don't make sense to a guy that is already on the ground.

THIS IS WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN

The federal government needs to eat a large portion of the costs of training our officers via the military. They could increase the amount of training, which would translate to public policing, in the military. Then, our departments across the country could give preference to these people that were already partially trained by the military. That way, our political subdivisions do not have to bear the entire cost of adequately training their officers. Because, if I'm a local leo agency, with a thinly stretched budget, I'd choose to add another officer before I'd spend more money on training.

It's amazing how polite police are when they are addressed with respect. Yes sir/ma'am goes a very long way

And they definitely don’t get paid for the value they represent to society. I wish we’d wake up and provide taxpayer-funded criminology education to all cops and pay them what they’re worth.

It's not just concerning about getting killed. LEO deal with violent people all of the time. People with little to risk and much to gain by getting physical with LEO. If you're an LEO, there will be blood, and a lot of it will be your own.

A carpenter being a dick can't detain you or use deadly force against you. Standards are higher when you can arrest people and use deadly force.
