Doesnt mean its the reason but they are giving reasons for things to get ended if she wanted to in the future. And she has an out, its about safety, then all the dumbasses of the city like you will bow down to her.

She tried to do this exact thing with Endymion. Uhh well its a strain on police so you need to move the parade.

Didn’t like Voodoo taking over City Park for set up, fest itself, and take down anyway.

Does it? Really don’t know. They have been short staffed for a long time ... not sure why can’t just bring in other officers from other departments for the weekend.

Yeah. OP just combined several stories to create his own narrative. Voodoo did this on their own without consulting NOLA.

Amazing how people just make up their own bullshite as post it on this site as fact and how may people lap it up because it fits their political narrative.

Voodoo cancelled because JF, Buku, and FQF are sitting on top of them in October not to mention all of the other major festivals like Bonaroo going on within weeks of what Voodoos normal weekend. Scheduling acts was going to be a real expensive pain with logistics and such, not to mention how they likely wouldn't have the attendance to cover the costs of the festival itself. It makes sense in the business sense of it all.

WWL Radio took a few comments from a May 25th press conferece and posted an irresponsible story that is fake news and the OP ran with it without doing any fact checking....

Dave Cohen must really need some ratings and clicks

Here are the May 25th comments that he's referring to:
quote:

“Jazz Fest alone requires 728 officers on a normal year, a Saints game requires 180 officers, French Quarter Fest requires 739 officers, all that being said; we have just over eleven hundred officers on the force in total,” said Tidwell. “There will come a point, likely in the summer, that we announce a full and firm cut-off period for any additional events going forward.”

VooDoo Fest nor did the City say the reason for VooDoo cancelling was a police shortage.....WWL Radio and the OP are just driving a fake story
