So in other words, people are adapting to their environment?
With that said, I can introduce you to so real country folk. Some might have cable, but they still don't have cell phones, they cook everything they eat, many times its fish they catch, deer, hog, squirrel they kill. They grow have 3 or 4 different people who all grow different shite and they all give each other stuff they grow, they keep a gun on their back porch..

If corporations hadn't artificially driven down crop/livestock prices to try to force farmers into bankruptcy so they could step in and steal their land, they wouldn't need subsidies.

It is exactly why Country Music has gone to shite. The real country life just doesn't exist anymore. Even if someone comes out with a great record, they get rich then have nothing else to sing about.

Come to rural Alabama and you will find a lot of people who live off the land as their parents and grandparents did. They grow what they eat and could survive longer doing so than most of us.
Anyone who says they are not country if they have a cell phone and a tv are forgetting a generation or two ago people said that you werent country if you didnt farm with a mule (instead of those fancy tractors).

Drive out to west Texas and you’ll find some. I stoped in Clarendon, Tx on the way back from Colorado and asked if they had a Walgreens. The lady at the gas station had no idea what I was talking about. Fun fact, Clarendon is home of the last court ordered hanging in the US.

A lot of people who live in rural areas have the self-sufficient, lived off the land type parents or grandparents, but they're fat welfare trash. It's sad ,really.
