Take a paid day off? If you aren’t salary why should you get paid for not going into work? If you are salary, take a day off. How many supervisors of not vital positions are declining time off?

There’s plenty of people that HAVE to work to keep businesses running. I don’t understand the ignorance here. The whining about not getting a free day off makes you look so damn soft.

I am working from home, right now, at 10pm. I can run a query and fart around for a minute.

I can work from home at 7am.
At noon.
At 4pm.
Or 7pm.
Any day of the year.

Whenever the frick I want to, or need to.

I can work from my phone while driving. I can work while flying. I can work from a hotel room when traveling with family.

What the frick is the obsession here with where work gets done? Is this board dominated by tradesmen than can't comprehend what an office job is?

They want me to be available tomorrow so even by the grace of God I do sell something from a random customer I can't get the customer said material until Thursday, It's pointless.

And the other 75% of the employees a re getting paid to stay home because they need to be in shop to do their job and we are closed.

If you don't see the stupidity in that then there is zero hope for you.

Agreed. The EO makes no sense. And then it ends saying directors can do whatever the F they want.

So what is being enforced?

Then do that. Seriously. If there’s no work coming in, shut the laptop, turn your mind off and go enjoy the day.

Are they that much of an a-hole that if you told them the honest to god truth they would make your life hell? Why would you even want to work for a company like that?

Covid is OVER!!! It’s BEEN over!!!

If I can be just as productive why do you care where I am productive at? I don't care that it bothers you. And there are people who worked from home before Covid. I have been able to do work from home since like... 2007-2008 if needed.

The office can be more distracting. 10 mins after starting working on something someone stops by to ask a question and it turns into a 15 min conversation, while talking to them you get an email about something else that takes another 10 mins, then finally 25 mins later you get back to what you started... There is a loud noise in the break room, everyone is concerned about what happened and everyone has to stop by and talk about it... Someone schedules a meeting.. You go to an hour meeting and accomplish absolutely nothing..

A lot more time gets wasted in the office.

Their obsession is to control people and a disdain for cities. its a backlash from small cities vs large (large cities are where most white-collar jobs are anyways)

like there are grown men who think California, Chicago and New York are war zones and 60 million people choose to live in those areas are afraid of their lives everyday of being kidnapped, murdered

while also being soft, soy Millennials who work from home and refuse to start families.

I always look at the comments when one of these channels posts a Millenial bragging about their WFH job or cushy job, or cries about being laid off. its always a tinge of jealousy and mix of absolute BS

Because they pay out of the nose for my service and I have employee option I bought into and it has split 2 times in 3 years. Over all they are a good company.
Also it's one person that I don't interact w/ i only see him 1 a year for a hunting retreat, not my direct superior. I took a personal day. It doesn't effect my vacation accrual or hours.
Like it said I think this was an attempt to get people to take a vacation day so they don't eat the cost. I read the employee hand book and found out i could use a personal day for inclement weather or a sick day because my kids are off school on they're dime, vacation is on my dime.

It's one of the following:

1. Companies that have leases on office buildings or own commercial real estate that are struggling to sell that real estate post-COVID. So their response is to put people back in buildings to justify their holdings.

2. People who are outright jealous that someone can WFH with the position they're in.

3. Managers who want to micromanage and aren't capable enough to manage WFH employees.

The reality is there are some jobs you just don't have to be in the office to work. There's some jobs that you have to be in-person.

My response is you're mad that someone else gets paid to WFH, you're welcome to leave your in-person job and apply for a WFH position. If my employer tried to force me to go back into the office on my WFH days, I'd have a really hard line about what I do outside of my "typical" office hours if you're telling me I can't WFH.
