Mormons call themselves ladder day saints because they can build a barn in a day but it takes a lot of ladders
Is that why Jesus was a carpenter?

Your euphoria over the Mormons demise is premature I'm afraid.
Growth in North America and Europe is primarily due to births within Mormon families.
The church measures its "activity" rate - which is a measure of what percentage of its members actually attend church. The typical congregation has an activity rate that has dwindled down to around 30%.
90% of new converts disappear within 1 year.
The other big announcement this weekend was that church services are being reduced from 3 hours to just 2 hours each Sunday.
When I was Mormon I dreaded those 3 hours. So long. So boring.

A few days before Memorial Day 2017, I was touring Temple Square with the wife, and we were able to observe the choir's practice, which included 'Battle Hymn of the Republic"
Beyond awesome!

You disregarded the point of my post which is the decline is similar or greater among other religions as well. It is a global issue.
Out of curiosity link your 90% retention rate. I can believe 30-35% activity rate as it is consistent or better than other religion rates.
Ahhh, so because you left and you communicate with others who have left a church then it must mean members are leaving in droves...haha got it now.
I really don't care either way, but I like to check out peoples stats and "facts" no matter the subject. Your stats may be accurate or not, but it is happening throughout religion globally and not just the momo's.

Man, why you so hostile? I'm not talking about other religions. The Mormon Church enjoyed healthy growth up until about 6-7 years ago, but that has changed recently. The primary reason is that Mormon's are discovering the true history of the church - which is not even close to what they were taught at church.
The numbers I give are numbers that are down as far as the Mormon Church goes. My point is that it is struggling with member retention and is beginning a decline.

The internet has been the reason for this. Members are discovering the Mormon Church's actual past is not what they were taught in church. Joseph Smith was a freak.
Likewise for the Jehovah's Witnesses and Charles T Russell...folks are on to them.

Hostile? LOL, okay. I am merely challenging you on some things.
This appears convenient.
As is every religion. Except maybe Muslims. Your reasoning of why might be flawed and biased based on your personal defection.
Come join us at Body of Christ in Jackson since you are no longer a mormon. We have people come and go all the time. Our numbers fluctuate depending on the season. Oh and we only meet for 60 minutes with an optional Wed service.

No More Mormon: Tabernacle Choir
I thought you were going to tell me the choir sold their naming rights and were going to be something like the "Raising Canes Tabernacle Choir"...

EST, tell the alter/newbie with the hot take about what the CoJCoLDS will do to track down members who leave.
My son is dating a girl who is having her doubts, much like what you've said about learning this history. He showed me an internal website that tells members how to track down members who leave.
I am loath to criticise being a devout Roman Catholic, myself.

Where's your story about the person you "know" that has to do with your OP? It's a shitty trademark of yours.

3 hours to just 2 hours each Sunday.
Holy shite! Are their services similar to a Catholic Mass? What do you do in 3 hours?
There use to be some non-denom people by me and those suckas went to service two a day on Sunday. In the morning then late afternoon. And I always wondered what the hell do they do there.

Never been to a Catholic church but they look far more interesting on tv.

A Catholic mass is one hour. There is a first and second reading, the gospel reading, the priest then talks for a little while. Then prepares communion, everyone shakes hands with people around them, you go to communion, there is a final prayer and some other stuff. The priest tells everyone to go in peace and it's over.. And there is some kneeling and standing throughout the mass.
If the church does have a choir and the priest isn't long winded, you can get out of there in 50 mins.
Oh and before communion they pass a basket around to collect donations.
