Didn't one of the threads yesterday point out that all these dropped charges for firearms were based on the initial stop being made for possession of marijuana?
If so, anything they find following that stop is fruit from a poisoned tree and getting tossed anyway.

If NOLA was a frat boy on Viagra in a whorehouse, it'd find a way to get it's dick stuck in a toaster.
Good god that city cannot walk nor chew gum, much less at the same time.

I believe it was his firearm that was legally purchased and not used in a crime.
This lady dropped charges, apparentky, for people possessing stolen guns and people that used them in the acts of crime.
If we made the possession of a stolen firearm without bill of sale a mandatory decade of hard labor prison sentences, we’d get results and less litter on the streets.
Laws about drugs and guns, which some of these were first stopped for weed and searched.
I dont think weed should be schedule 1, but they probably didnt do illegal searches. Search for drugs, oh dude has loaded concealed handgun.

One of the lawyers in the board could chime in on this, but weed is decriminalized in Orleans Parish. Traffic ticket basically, which I believe makes it no longer grounds for arrest or search.
Whether that constitutes an "illegal search" by the letter of the law, I have no idea.

That was my link but it was from 2016, I was just using it as an example of how they used it as a reason to search people

It is still illegal in the State of Louisiana and at the Federal level.

So how does more gun control laws help anyone again?

Young Professor Nabers was charged with illegal carrying (14:98) which could mean a lot of things, but typically means concealment of a weapon.
If the discovery of that weapon arose out of an illegal stop , then, as others point out the charge gets tossed anyway.
If this is right (and I have seen no reliable reports to support it), Maw's disposition of the matter is creative, practical and beneficial to interests of justice.

So she tried to use the apologetic white logic for this?

White female liberals are bad but the SJWs are the absolute enemy of all races with their well meaning and gentle destruction of poor African Americans

Still not grounds for an arrest in the jurisdiction of prosecution.
I love guns, I tolerate drug use. I hate drugs combined with drug use. But any constitutional lawyer worth his salt is going to get this tossed regardless.

Leftists: MORE GUN LAWS NOW!!
Also leftists:
I’m still waiting one someone to explain to be why leftists always demand more gun laws but then refuse to enforce the laws already in the books.
Someone walk me through the logic here.
