One thing that is huge positive in this mess is the time I have spent with the family and the new hobbies. We picked up gardening, fishing, and just started some wood working. I don’t see myself going back to the hours watching sports when I will have these and other things we pick up to do

This.

I think the difference is that people have now gotten used to not having sports on. I know football is different but I was shocked when basketball cancelled. I couldn't imagine no March Madness, then it happened and I realized it wasn't that big a deal. I couldn't imagine no baseball, then it happened and again I realized it wasn't that big a deal. I think a lot of people feel the same way. Sure, if you'd told me right after the super bowl that was the last NFL game until 2021 I would have been shocked but now? People are getting more and more used to this. Again, I understand football is more popular but how many people really genuinely missed not having baseball begin and the NBA and NHL finals this June?

My son wanted to play Madden tonight...actually Madden 17. I took San Francisco and, when I realized on the second play that the BLM poster child was a QB, I subbed him out for Gabbert.

I’m not the biggest NBA guy but I’m pretty pumped it’s coming back. Plus I’m running out of First 48 episodes that I haven’t seen

There is no way they are gonna allow teams "groups" to travel around the country and play contact sports. I guess they could require the players to wear mask, but I just don't see it.

They have crash designed rings that closely monitor biometrics. It can track probability of you coming down with something and see if you need to get with a doctor for testing.

300 per unit so well in the NFL's budget.

Is it really not likely that any sport at any level will eventually allow those players who wish to kneel during the national anthem? I suppose some will actually say they've washed their hands of every spectator sport in existence.

Not me though. I'm really not that concerned with the politics of the people who try to get a ball from point A to point B quicker and more often than the other people. I merely laugh it off and yell at them to do better with their little balls.

I think you underestimate the situation

I’ve been in a fantasy league for a decade and we have already decided to cancel the league (I don’t think the season will be played anyway)

Fantasy is the only reason I’ve watched the NFL in years

My story is not a rarity

Remember when people said sports were great and united us, the rich , the poor, the races?

That is before the athletes salaries became so high that they have frick you money. They think their opinions matter more than others and a certain portion of our population follow them like sheep.

As I have posted before, I’m done with pro sports, with the exception of golf.
I watch/follow sports to escape the normal rigors of life. When sports becomes another outlet for social protests, it is no longer sports for me.
If what is going on now continues, in 2 - 3 years, stadiums will be empty.
And one last thought...the uber-leftists leading all these protests don’t follow sports anyway, so where do they think the fans and their dollars are going to come from ?

Well with all the recent advances in robotics, why don’t they just have robot teams like on the Jetson’s.

I bet Elon Musk could cobble some up in a jiffy.

IWWI

They could even select skin tones to maximize racial unity.
