I did a little sleuthing. He's the one with the money. Family owns a civil engineering/construction company. Her father runs an inner city Christian ministry in San Antone.

ETA: Ackerman is a name associated with early Texas ranching so there may be some money on her side back there somewhere too.

Damn nurse. This must’ve hit close to home. I couldn’t imagine something like this happening in my family. This is horrible.

They departed their wedding early Sunday morning? Pilot had too many cocktails?

Certainly possible but sometimes they just break and there are a couple ways they can brake it does not matter how much skill you have, you don't make it. Civilian safety requirements are lower in requirements than military. I never could get comfortable with that and never flew as a civilian job, though I have a Commercial License.

That is incredibly sad. Poor families. I couldn’t imagine going from watching the happiest moment in your children’s life to having your heart ripped out.

Or maybe he’s just a nice person. Something many OT’ers wouldn’t understand...

Regardless, awful.

People always assume that. We grew up with a family helicopter and although we were (and are) exceptionally wealthy there are plenty of people that have helicopters and are not.

So try not to generalize so much.

Have been on the cover of that paper while in college there.

Sorry to hear. Awful for all associated with the couple.

Helicopters scare me. I have ridden in basic ones and recently rode in one they use to film SpaceX stuff as well as stunts and such for movies so as you can imagine it's a nice one with a great pilot but I was still nervous the whole time.

The old Bell 206 is a good machine as far as helicopters go. But when will people learn to leave helicopters alone? I wouldn't fly in a civilian helicopter unless I had to.
