Sounds like you would be scared to visit anywhere if you researched it then.

You really feel like this in Nola? Where, exactly? In all of my years living in Nola, I only ever felt unsafe walking through the Quarter after midnight, heading home - which I only ever did with someone else or in a group because I'm not a moron.

I always wonder why people make blanket statements about how unsafe Nola is. To me, it is perfectly safe if you stay out of the areas you KNOW you should not be.

There is no better place in the world to get shitfaced and act like a total buffoon. And then leave.

It's not even that difficult.

Baton Rouge locals' hatred for New Orleans is hilarious.

It's like Napoleon Complex on steroids.

I have lived in New Orleans my entire life other than my 4 years at LSU. I have never been a victim or even witnessed a crime. I enjoy every weekend because there is always a fun event going on. I have done much traveling in my life, and I've yet to find a place that holds a candle to New Orleans as far as the people, the never-ending things to do, and the food. I loved my time at LSU, but Baton Rouge outside of LSU is one of the most boring places in the world.

Think Shreveport without the glitz and glamour.

It's been 10 days and it's winter. This is like UT claiming the SEC title in march.
