You NE AL baws need to keep an eye out. When these storms make it into your area they stand a chance to take off. You haven't had rain, and you know what those mountains can do for a storm.

Wife and I are discussing if we just need to go to the storm shelter and sit for this round to pass. Normally I’d stay home but I have a 4 yr old and 8 week old. They just said the dew point was 70 in Scottsboro so the fuel is probably there.

I will never say not to if you feel like you need to. You have a little bit of time yet to judge what these storms will do, depending on how far you are from shelter.

Aaron Jayjack is in the Huntsville area. I wouldn't mind meeting that crazy fricker.

I’ve never met anyone that regretted playing it safe and sheltering. That said, I too have young kids and realize that sheltering in a basement is far from ideal for the kiddos. If you have confidence in your alerts, you can wait it out a bit and make the call when needed.

Even if it means you’re the one staying up to monitor the weather, that’s a hell of a lot more relaxing and peaceful than the kids struggling to sleep.

Around Pleasant Groves is a suspect area that should be watched. It has a bit of a rear inflow notch, similar to the earlier storm near Hazel Green. Also, the bowing segment will bring significant winds whether a tornado is with it or not.

At the moment there is minimal rotation with it, but we saw earlier that NWS Huntsville was hesitant to pull the trigger on a similar storm.
