Ours did it to keep the total square footage down. We have plenty of hoteling cubes and it seems to work well for those that have to use them.

Doctors routinely read x-rays, scans, reports, etc from home. Some even do it exclusively.

On our contract we have about 150 people and the seating has been reduced down to where we barely fit 60. It's our customer's responsibility to provide seating as was negotiated in the contract.
Naturally, they bitch and moan that our people are working off site.
