I have had a Maverick since August of last year. My wife drives it and it works perfect for her. It holds a good bit of weight for what it was built for. Perfect for suburb peeps and it pulls hard with the Ecoboost.
Making 28 round town and 34-35 on the interstate.
I am thinking it will be a good vehicle for about 150-175K miles.
I paid $22K +TTL. Plain Jane XL model, will throw some aluminum rims and larger tires when these wear out.

New Bronco’s value is gonna crater not because of aesthetics but bc they are absolute trash for off-roading. Talk to organizers of off road trail riding groups. Each of them have stories of Bronco’s breaking at alarming rates.

Damn right! I look constantly on Bring a Trailer for well-kept versions of these.

Not for me, but it looks way better than the Maverick imo.

IF that were true, they'd build them.

It's the same way with all the threads where everyone is like "give me a bare bones vinyl interior and they'd sell like hot cakes" except no one actually buys trucks like that. They have to be special ordered because the actual demand isn't there.

Baws….this is an UNOFFICIAL render of the Stout. This is one artists image of what he thinks it might look like. It won’t look like this!
I thought it was suspect when it basically has the body of the Maverick with the front end of the Electric FJ Cruiser concept released in late ‘21.
If Toyota follows design of new concept Tacoma, it’ll look awesome.

It’s the best SUV ever made. Light truck drivetrain and small design makes them able to go anywhere.

Awesome truck...but it had the 22R-E...which is not the same as the 22R. The R-E was fuel injected...the R was carbureted.

This is what I drove in High School. 1982 Toyota with the 22R. The single walled bed sucked...but everything else was pretty awesome.

I'm not their target market, especially with the new design. Why can't companies go back to what looks better design-wise?

The old (or original) far exceeds this plastic-looking model they are going to pump out. Take the exterior of the old Stout, and fill it with modern-day amenities on the inside.

Ford, I'm also including you. The new design of the Bronco fails in comparison to the original design. If I wanted to spend $60 to $70K on a Bronco, it would be to restore one that could potentially appreciate in value instead of the one that will drop like a rock in 2 to 3 years after a new purchase. I actually had a certifiable hoe tell me this. I know her body count was well over 300. She said the big trucks that are jacked up got small shite. She said it’s the guys driving small trucks and cars you have to look out for.

so, Ford made a truck to compete with the Toyota Tacoma, and then Toyota makes another truck to compete with the Ford Maverick? So, now Toyota will have two trucks of the same size?

The Maverick is smaller than a Tacoma and not built on traditional truck frame. The Ranger is Ford's option to the Tacoma. The Scout will be Toyota's answer to the Maverick.
