oh boy we're freaking out about long range GFS tropical systems again?
sure a tropical system could form and landfall somewhere that far ahead, but if the disturbance hasn't even formed yet you should hold no weight on it

I think everyone understands that. I think its that these are the first storms to show up and with the expected busy season people are talking about it.

I'm not freaking out. Think the weather is fascinating !
From the Tropical Waves coming from the SE ...to the Arctic Blast racing from the North!
Derecho's from the Red River Valley barreling across South Central Louisiana ...
The Drought last Summer with multiple 100+ degree days!
It's all fascinating!

My bank account from my water bills agrees with you.

You're not new here. We've talked about every wave that has or hasn't or may or may not form for years now. Talking about and watching isn't the same as "freaking out". It isn't even the same as catching a 15% on the Day 6 outlook and talking about it, because we generally know something is going to happen with those.

Who is freaking out?
Don’t be that guy. I know we have to always have one of “those guys” in every weather thread though

There's currently a Flash Flood Emergency between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, including Hollywood and Miramar. Over a foot of rain has fallen and they're still adding to it.

Like, i thought this was a message board where we shoot the shite about things that interest us. We aren’t declaring a state of emergency, we are just talking about it. Because it interests us.

yea, all that is just below us. We got hammered yesterday. 8" in 3 hours. It rained more here today but at a rate that the land could handle it.
All of this area, including that extreme south Florida area, is going to get lots of rain through Sunday. Going to be a crazy ride
Before that, it had only rained 3 days since January. And two of those were sprinkles. One good rain in 5 months

Yeah, it is kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation with this system. You need the rain, you want the rain, you just don't need or want all of it at once.

Always
I posted a while back that this period looked to have a better than climo chance of spinning something up. We could get three named storms out of this sequence or none. 90L is bringing a lot of rain to FL, but any development will be after it starts to move away from land. The Western Gulf blob probably gets pinned down in the BOC, but there are some solutions that bring it farther north. Then, after that, there looks to be a third chance at development in the longer range (what that GFS run is showing).

I mean 2020 was a wacky crazy year so wouldn't expect nothing different this year. Lol

When would this be if it happened according to the model shown?

I just randomly checked the gfs and was like what the frick. I guess it’s time to get this party started.
