i used to live behind Olinde's. You forgot about the payday loan office and the barbershop. That being said, there is simply no reason to be there at night. That street is very dark in more ways than one.

Im willing to bet there are texts or social media messages that would suggest there being a more than teacher student relationship. Just a hunch tho.

Article on WBRZ says they are going through both of their phones and charges could be upgraded, which I'm sure is what everyone is expecting anyway.
But hey, maybe it was an innocent meeting in a car together on a very deserted street at 8:30pm on a school night and his parents and her husband knew exactly where their kid and his wife was.....

I mean, this chick is 23 years old, cute, newly married, in her I'm assuming 2nd year teaching and decides to meet up with some male student at 8:30pm on a school night, and not at some public place like a Starbucks or Barnes and nobles, but on some street in a parked car
I mean, seriously...
I think psychologically 23 isn't as "old" as it used to be. Maybe I'm painting with a broad bush here, but a lot of 23 year old's today are not that much more self sufficient than your avg. 16 year old. At 23, she's only 5-6 years older than a HS Senior. Socially, she probably feels more akin to an 18 year old than an adult. I can't say I was all that much different at 23. I still liked to go out and party at places where I'm sure there were many 18, 19 year olds. Much more so than places with an older crowd.
Couple that with the fact that she is an attractive woman now in a position of power so to speak. She all of a sudden becomes the object of desire for many teenage boys. I would guess that is probably a bit of an ego-trip that she very much enjoyed. Among other 23 year old's she was probably just a decently attractive girl. Stick her in front of a bunch of HS boys and she becomes a "supermodel" in their eyes.
In all likelihood she enjoyed the attention and just let it go to far. It doesn't make it right, but I think that may kind of explain why a pretty adult made the seemingly dumb decision to fool around with a HS kid.

I doubt you actually know her if you're contesting what happened here and saying she wasn't doing anything wrong. She's not the angel you're making her out to be. You probably didn't know her before she was with Brennan

It's deserted at night and there isn't much traffic there.
to be fair, most of New Roads is going to be deserted after 6 if you aren't at Satterfilds, Walmart, Winn Dixie, or any of the other bars/restaurants around there. Especially in January. On a weeknight.
All the more reason the teacher, regardless of how innocent the meeting may have been, should have used better judgement. She could have met him in a more public area and saved herself a lot of speculation.

Investigators are going through the phones of both Russell and the student. The police chief said charges could be upgraded.
A misdemeanor summons is a citation that requires the offender appear in court. Typically, a summons does not require the person suspected of committing a crime be booked into jail.
Since the teacher was not booked into jail, there is no proverbial “mug shot” available.
