You can buy a 911 for MSRP, even a GTS.
A Tayan, for less.

Maybe on super-demand model, there's a wait/deposit, but not on all.

Just built one that looks like it here in San Antonio. Nice enough but the Ferrari and Lambo dealerships look nicer. Not buying anything from any of them so doesn't matter much I guess.

You can probably buy a Taycan for a pack of smokes and a Racetrac hot dog these days lol. Or you can buy one at full boat and hope to be moved up to 13th on the list for a GT3. Friend just secured an allocation for PTS 3RS for the steal-it price of $80k over lol.

They're building one like that in Ridgeland, MS. The old Porsche of Jackson has has cars stolen off the lot in recent years.

There's still a mile long waitlist for your build.

And while you may be able to get them for sticker, the MSRP on 911's has absolutely SKYROCKETED with the 992 gen. A mildly optioned GTS is over 200k. Hell non-rental spec BASE 911 (not an S) is going to be about 150k. They have some of, if not the, highest margins of any large manufacturer. Their MSRPs have ballooned in recent years. MUCH moreso than other automakers.

All of their sportscars are super-demand models. They can't build them as fast as they sell them. Porsche New Orleans currently has one boxster on its lot (MSRP is over 100k) and 2 911's, both base models.

Porsche Austin, which is one of the biggest dealers in the country, has 2 base model 911s and 0 boxters 0 caymans.

That area of Vets certainly doesn't scream Porsche dealership to me. It's almost in Kennah

It can't be more dodgy than the area the Porsche plant in Atlanta is in....that's a pretty dodgy area. Also home to the original restaurant that became chick fli a.

We have one here in Ft. Myers. It is absolutely gorgeous. Has a bar in it with a bartender and snacks. The interior is all glass to see the service bays.

Don't disagree about build-to-order cars...

The store in Metairie never seemed to have much 911 inventory, nor many allocations.
I haven't bought any cars from there, but service was always good.
You're spot on about the increases; a Carrera 4S, optioned well, except front-axle lift & CCB, was 158 in 2020. That car today is probably 188.

The good news is that resale is phenomenal on a 911.

Ever notice how there is no porsche dealers in south atlanta but 4-5 up north? That's not an accident. They put the porsche center near the airport for ease of travel and noise concerns from the track. They do have a service center there but no dealers.

Harris in BR seems to be in close with the Nolasport guys and does some restoration. Says a lot right there.
