They’d be better off requiring them to do neighborhood watch in the FQ each month to get something out of it.

This infuriates me to no end.
My mom grew up in the Iberville projects. My grandma was a maid at the Roosevelt.
I spoke at a meeting there once and cried when I got back to my room, knowing that 60 years ago, my grandma likely cleaned that room for a guy like me.
My grandma taught her kids to work. My mom went to college and met my dad and they have a successful business now.
They taught me to work. Gave us love and an education.
My dad told me- this business isn’t yours when you get out of school, you have to make your own way.
So I hustled like I was taught and now own a business ten times as big as his. And I did it 20 years sooner than he did.
Soooo- moral of the story- you can be from the projects and make it. But it didn’t come from getting handouts.

Dems looking for votes…$350/mth. That’s outright saying you suck, take it because it’s the best you are going to do next to begging for nickels under the bridge.

I know how this begins. Some of these folks gonna partner up and form the Treefiddy Mafia and take over the cocaine trade in Louisiana. This is a taxpayer funded changing of the guard. Crips must not have made their annual political donation

So how about education or job training instead of free money? Thought we need more truck drivers and social workers?

How would we pay for a guaranteed income?

Budgets are moral documents, and it’s time for the U.S. government to prioritize everyday Americans and their economic dignity. There’s a number of ways to pay for guaranteed income, from a sovereign wealth fund in which citizens benefit from shared national resources like the Alaska Permanent Fund, to bringing tax rates on the wealthiest Americans to their 20th century historical averages.
