When did Oklahoma become part of the south?

I know lot of people from Oklahoma that consider themselves to be from the south. It's kind of odd

East-central/Eastern/SE Oklahoma from Tulsa to the Arkansas line is definitely southern.

Case in point: Reba is from East -Central Oklahoma. Anyone who has heard her talk wouldn't say that she isn't southern.

Yea tell that to the grandma killed driving in the middle of the day of her city not off the beaten path. Tell it to the lawyer Sandy who had some hoodlums paralyze him (he ultimately died) in a shooting during a fricking home invasion uptown. Gtfo

If that's what southern living calls southern living then

They should call themselves southern dying

Too much of a stretch?

If tourists would just stick to the tourist areas, they'd be safe. They get in trouble when they get too drunk and wander off the beaten path.

So New Orleans is just like Mexico?

You call that (southern) living?

Also, Memphis making this list is an absolute joke. Several of these cities are nothing to write home about at all.
