That Dumaine? Dumaine has been shite for at least a year.

the road behind me is opened up for some new piping and that downpour yesterday scooped out a bunch of the dirt/sand under the surrounding remaining road and that collapsed (also in the downtown nola area)
possible that storm helped it along
Probably.
Thank god it's not raining today. shite would probably get 10x bigger.

When driving off S. Carrollton/St. Charles, it appears some of the streets have been intentionally cratered to impede vehicular traffic.
Their is one on Orleans Ave near N. Carrollton that isn't merely a pothole anymore. It's the earth splitting open and swallowing cars.

Couple blocks off Dumaine. Really small street that most people haven't heard of.

the old riverfront expressway, was to be part of I10.

Was going to be part of a riverfront expressway that never happened. When the rivergate was built they put a tunnel in. About the only time in NOLA history we actually planned ahead for something, and you see how that worked out

Apparently for some reason (probably so much money was stolen they ran out) one of the walls of the tunnel is supported by timbers whereas the others are concrete. Guess which wall just failed?

I'm guessing it'll cost somewhere in the ballpark of $750k as well.
No they just said 3-5 million

My buddy hit a man hole cover on N Rampart ripped both mufflers off his Lexus.

While driving around looking for parking near the WWII Museum I hit so many craters in the streets, I thought I had inadvertently stumbled into one of those 4D interactive exhibits they have there.
