Morning Bayou Bengals

Making the trip next weekend and will be most of our groups first time to NOLA. Younger group late 20s early 30s. Some couples some single males and females. Definitely like to eat drink and be merry. Getting in Friday night and a few Saturday morning. Staying St. Charles Ave can’t remember cross st right off but it’s closeish to hotel indigo (a few blocks towards CBD)

Just looking for any of those must do things first time in the city. We will obviously do Bourbon St but I don’t want bourbon or FQ to be my only New Orleans experience.

I noticed we are right off streetcar line. Is that the best way to get around? Or just Uber? Anything good within walking distance of us? (A lot of the reviews on AirBNB mentioned Tacos and Beer?)Do we need to be wary walking around at night in our area? Etc.

Any advice is much appreciated

I always leave Bourbon by 6. If you decided to stay, head towards Esplanade. Nothing good happens below St. Ann.

There’s a really neat rooftop bar on top the Ponchatrain Hotel like a block from you. Avenue Pub is only a couple blocks away too.

It’s a pretty safe area. You’ll have more safety issues going to that shithole FQ.

don't wear open toed shoes or go barefoot. I Uber everywhere when I go.

if you're so inclined, hit up the WWII museum. Its worth the effort.

WW2 Museum in the Warehouse district (walking distance from you) is a cool stop.

Do: Go to the bars in the 800 block of Bourbon.

Don't: Get shot/mugged/stabbed/etc.

I'd make reservations for dinner now. It's going to be like Mardi Gras down here that weekend.

Peche is a great spot for lunch of dinner in the WHD.
