If it is SOOOO bad then it should not be a legal product.
It's bad when it is inhaled directly and it's bad when indirectly inhaled in confined spaces. Fact.

Then why do you think a lot of bars allowed smoking? Do you think that the owners just enjoy the smell?

I think they just don't know and don't like change. Honestly I don't believe this will hurt their bottom line one bit and actually think it will help in the long run with not having to replace a tarred up AC unit.

Well I hope that they ban loud music. That's not good for the worker's hearing.

and they better not be drinking behind the bar either!

Cigar and hookah bars are legal.

you avoided the issue

there was an actual "trade off" in the old system

there is no "trade off" now. non-smokers get their way and that's it.

So my right to breathe clean air is trumped by smokers' "right" to smoke in public places?

the non smokers liberties should be stepped on so smokers can smoke.

What a great day for the City.

Smoking is trashy take that shite outside. People go to bars for two reasons: to get laid and to get drunk, there wont be any revenue decline and what they found in NY bar revenues actually increased by non smokers coming to newly smoke free bars.

The barstool smoker/loser is not going to stop going to the bar.

every knows the effects of smoking nowadays, so no one can claim ignorance either

They can petition Harrah's. There beef should be with Harrah's not the city council.

I'll get on it, thanks.

I wonder if there was this much disagreement when asbestos was banned.

Calm down. Many cities have already had laws like this for YEARS and you don't see us living like communists in those cities

Smokers can still smoke. Just not where it infringed on nonsmokers. You're acting like they banned smoking entirely.
