It should be on smokers to not do it.
I agree, the business owner should make the decision, not the government.

How people don't understand that the government dictating to private business what customers can or can't do in their own establishment isn't a issue just baffles me
the way i've heard it explained in several states is the smoking ban isn't really intended to provide the patrons a smoke free environment, but more of an OSHA "Right to a safe workplace" rule for the employees.

I'm a non smoker and I hate this kind of crap.
Same here. But some folks can't see beyond their own simple desires and the use of govt. to enforce them.
This argument would hold a lot more water if smoking didn't have some many direct effects to people around smokers.

I don't understand where the bar makes money from smoking.
Then why do you think a lot of bars allowed smoking? Do you think that the owners just enjoy the smell?

CDC stats disagree with your EPA stuff, but whatevs.
I could debate you all day long on this, but I really don't care to. You have your mind made up and that's fine. But, the bottom line is this. If it is SOOOO bad then it should not be a legal product.
Seriously, you are telling me that you see nothing wrong with the government telling the citizens where it can engage in legal activity? It is a legal product (unless you are a minor) and they are telling private citizens where they can have it. They are also telling private businesses how to run their business.
You see nothing wrong with that?

So you would support a law that requires interior Ozone levels to be at the same level as exterior?
Ozone is unhealthy and could be lowerex with proper ventilation.

then make that trade off by selecting bars that offer it
Cigar and hookah bars are legal.

t should be on smokers to not do it. It's rude to do it in a public place
a private business isn't a "public place"
business should decide if this is allowed or not

and smokers DON'T have a choice in the current legal scheme. what bars can they choose to smoke in?
Cigar bars, hookah bars, outdoor patios of regular bars.
Those look like choices to me

did non-smokers have non-smoking options in the old system? yes. so it's not the same scenario
Harrahs is the ONLY casino allowed in the city by law. Where did the non-smoker get to go to gamble smoke free?

But if we can't tell if she smokes at the bar, how are we going to know if she pokes?????

Well I hope that they ban loud music. That's not good for the worker's hearing.

This will set up a group of trolls that "legally" chain smoke just outside of certain establishments.

and the health risk for being around smokers would be a decent argument if the people did not have the ability to CHOOSE to be around smokers

It is deadly and a result of modern a/c use. If you care so much about second hand smoke you should really understand Ozone.
