Their entire economy is built around encouraging drunk people to visit and piss in the streets.

Friend,

Mardi Gras existed long before parades and will exist long after parades are gone. Perhaps this year we can reflect on what the true meaning of Mardi Gras is, just as we have been doing with Christmas.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

You are clearly a wondrous Mardi Gras historian. Thanks for your contribution.

Your post assumes that a logical person is making decisions. You will be surprised to find out that the ignorant woman from Compton that is delinquent on her taxes does not seem to have any logic.

It's time to cancel New Orleans. It's useless without Mardi Gras.

Dumbest shite that gets posted here. Is it important? Of course it is. But, the port is and will always be the backbone of NOLA.

You're right, I can still drink until I black out in the street and piss on myself even if the mayor cancels all the parades.

Their entire economy

It was supposed be built on Oil then the downturn and now likely to never rebound.

It was supposed to be built on tourism. Now restaurants, bars, and events are all closed or cancelled.

It was going to be built on healthcare with the new healthcare facility built. Looking like it will only have marginal impact.

Can someone tell me why NOLA hasn't legalized recreational marijuana again? I don't think there is anything left to keep it afloat

What happened to that fancy new Hard Rock Hotel NOLA was supposed to be building that would bring in lots of money?
