NEW ORLEANS — Just a little over two weeks into the new year and more than 400 vehicles have been stolen across the city of New Orleans, that's an average of more than 23 vehicles every day.
quote:
According to NOPD, last year there were 4400 car thefts. Of those 4400 thefts, 559 involved a Hyundai and 482 involved a Kia.
“The counts of auto theft incidents started climbing in late July and reached a monthly high of 573 incidents for December, in which 57% of the involved vehicles were either a Kia or Hyundai. The data indicates this increase in auto thefts can be traced to the Kia & Hyundai TikTok Hack,” the NOPD said.

But Joe Biden says that high insurance rates in certain locales is racist.

How stupid must the average NOLA citizen be to vote for their last half dozen mayors and the continue to stay in that war zone?

Most of the time they use them to commit other crimes and then abandon the car once out of gas.
If they are used in shootings, drive-by's etc they are torched.

Tells you a lot about the city when a stolen car is just the warm up crime to facilitate other more reprehensible shite

They are used to do other hood rat shite then are abandoned and found. Neighbors had a Hyundai stolen on Monday, was found on Thursday. Of course had window smashed, steering column damaged, and body damage from a wreck when found

I read that they are very easy to steal.

I was recently shown how they openly request and advertise cars on social media outlets.

Only about half of them drive and less than that even own a vehicle.
The odds of having your car stolen are, on a relative basis, astronomical in New Orleans. Surely this rate of car theft has to slow down.
