Oh look, more racism. What does the race of your coworkers have to do with whether or not you can speak your mind?

My boss is a hardcore Republican supporter. I sure as frick know better than to freely speak my mind around him but that's more about a diversity of ideologies and not about skin color.

So MTV just put an article on why "White people" isn't racist.

Just a few gems from the article.

quote:

No one is saying that your life is easy or that you're supposed to feel guilty; it's about understanding where you fall in a messed up system.

quote:

That’s the thing about racism: It’s not necessarily a thing you do, it’s a system you’re born into (and a system you can choose to criticize and reject.) Sure, people of color can be prejudiced against white people, but it’s not the same thing as racism

And the kicker

quote:

Yes, you might’ve had a hard life — but if you’re white, your race is not one of the things that influenced your hardships

Wow.

You really don't think race ever played a factor in a negative way in a white person's life?

Aren't there YouTube videos of whites getting attacked by blacks? isn't it common knowledge that whites can be discriminated against in the hiring process as well as school admissions?

Life is not black and white.

I've never understood what this means. Is it just dry skin that people are referring to? I'm about as white as can be, but my skin gets dry too.

Qualified white males lose out on jobs all the time so companies can meet a quota typically giving the job to an unqualified minority or woman. Not to say that some aren't qualified. But HR will force standards to be lowered for certain groups to get the numbers right.

What a gross generalization. Again, how would you know if you dont interact them? Just assume the worst?

quote:

Oh no, so and so died. Lets make some t-shirts and have a candlelight vigil. Oh geez, this kid (who happened to be robbing someone) got shot by the cops. Such injustice, so let's shut down a city by standing in the street, burning some cars, and vandalizing and looting businesses.

Guess what happens the very next day. Murders, robberies, rapes, etc. Business as usual. You want more money? Show me some results. The problem is that they can't. It's laughable how pathetic that shite is.

If that makes you more racist, then the problem lies with you;. Its funny how many of you dont see that.

quote:

So the only answer is to blame white men for something that happened 150 years ago. Bravo geniuses. Keep moving "your people" forward. Making incredible strides with all of these protests and church groups and politicians doing worthless garbage. It's so admirable

Yes people should just shut up and wait for the majority to take their time granting equality and justice for all. LEt know how that has been working out.

quote:

To the guy who said he can't speak up at work....you're a punk. That's your problem. There's a 99% chance you wouldn't speak up in a room full of deaf black mutes. Grow a pair and say something if you want to

You have absolutely no idea how difficult of a situation that is to navigate. If it were as easy as just speaking up, I bet it would have been done already.

My skin gets ashy too. Maybe I am a little black.

So I can be racist and not suffer repercussions. Sweet

I grew up in the deep south. When I was in first and second grade I went to an inner city school that was primarily black about a 90 to 10 ratio because my family was poor and lived in the city. I dealt with small amounts of being the white kid at that school and as with any minority you always feel like the odd person out especially in the deep south where often racial problems exist. As I grew up, I dealt with alot of racism from blacks. I've been jumped (Attacked, Assaulted) whatever you want to call it 4 or 5 times, pelted with rocks and have witnessed violence toward white people and friends for simply having to walk thru a bad neighborhood to get home. If I wanted to avoid these neighborhoods and areas I had to walk 4 or 5 blocks out of the way on my way home. I've had many bikes stolen as well as other items from my yard etc. So yes, my race absolutly played a role in my upbringing. I also had black friends and people that I got along with but one thing I learned about black people that I grew up with and considered my friends is even if they are your friend alot of times if someone of their color attacks you then you aren't their friend anymore because for whatever reason my black friends never defended me from attacks or violence when mobs of black kids would attack me or attempt to bully me...not saying all black people would allow this but this is just based on my personal experience. Now, As I have gotten older I think that was more due to the area of the country I am from where we had segregraded proms even when I graduated but to put out that kind of trash statement as if being white had no role in my life in a negative way is just complete horseshite. Pardon my french.

So you finally decided to reply to one of my posts :golfclap:

Too bad what you said was almost incoherent and you can't even comprehend basic, simple sentences

Let me try and dumb this down even more. Black people get no results from community organizing, protesting, or anything else. Instead of looking at themselves as the reason they are committing crimes and getting killed, it is easier to blame it on something that happened 150 years ago. I wish I could do that

I agree brother, even in the military recruiters go after certain demographics; black, Hispanic, female etc.
