More importantly, it completely sidesteps the issue that this should have been considered in totality when the airport was first being contemplated/designed.

How.... how are they different? Just because it has a different name? Or is it because of the funding source?

That's like saying bonds offered by the State of LA are different than bonds offered by the State of MS.

legendary clusterfrick of the Denver airport

I remember hearing an interview years ago from a hockey announcer who was covering the Colorado/Edmonton series. He was asked about traveling between the two cities, and he said, Well, it's interesting, because the Denver airport is halfway to Edmonton, and the Edmonton airport is halfway to Denver!

Well, I know that when I talk about my trips, I tend to have in-depth discussions on my airport experiences. I mean, it's practically the focal point of the trip. That, hopefully brief, time in the airport just means so much to the traveler.

quote:

Tourist: The view was spectacular and there were so many restaurants. AND I got some [INSERT REGIONAL FOOD/ITEM] in the gift shop. What a great trip!

Friend: What else did you do? Did you go downtown?

Tourist: Hey, let's focus on what's important. The airport was amazing.

4) Everything to do with interstate access is a state issue. Perhaps if ya boy Bobby Jindal was actually serving as governor in his second term, instead of running for president, he could have handled this. I guess that was asking for too much.

Bobby Jindal has many faults, but I'm not sure he should take all the blame for this one.

I mean, Jindal's last day as governor was January 11, 2016. The groundbreaking ceremony for the new airport was January 14, 2016.

However, it raises a red flag for me considering the article is from a Baton Rouge paper which likely has a bias in wanting to see the local airport succeed at the expense of the other

Think its more to do with the whole NO airport project being a complete joke thus far.

I would expect this shite from some Central African nation … but this is New Orleans.

I guess they’re about the same.

You’ve got it wrong... I’m thinking more East Africa like Somalia or Ethiopia.

Especially when considering the airport in New Orleans has experienced unprecedented growth in passenger traffic over the past 5 years probably to the detriment of Ryan Field.

Flying out of BTR was ten times less of a hassle then MSY even before this new terminal fiasco. I love that airport

You think planning for a project this big started on the day they broke ground??

No. I know that years were spending studying and yadda yadda.

But do I think the governor went out of his way to deal with the project? No.

Also, do I think those who were in charge of the project were competent (knowing what we know about the Landrieu administration)? Absolutely not.

So, like I said, I don't think Jindal deserves all the blame. Could he have done more? Obviously, but I know that others deserve large portions of the blame as well.

Yes as you pointed out there’s a lot of people involved on a project of this scale. Therefore there’s plenty of blame to go around.
