New MSY road opens tomorrow

No, not the flyover... but the increased capacity on Loyola and at the Loyola / Veterans intersection.
State got their stuff done on time... at least this part of it. Airport was supposed to open tomorrow.

I still don't understand why you won't be able to access the airport from Airline Drive?

Maybe because you would be dodging airplanes on the runway which is between the new terminal and Airline drive.

Its going to be a disaster.
Traffic is going to back up onto the interstate regularly
Also the access road involves a couple single lane traffic circles. Not sure how that will handle the volume.

Many airports do not have parking facilities connected to the airport and some are quite a ways from the airport.

I was through there today. They finished marking lanes. Seems like they only extended Loyola southward, and added a turn lane onto Veterans
There is still only ONE left turn lane from I 10 west onto Loyola South bound.

I don't think it's usable at this point, but I believe there's already a tunnel under the runway.
