Also, remember the posts with people saying the air traffic controllers were freaking out and it was going to cause huge delays for arrivals and departures because of the way the new facility aligned with the tarmac?

The small amount of cover for departures and arrivals is bullshite. This is going to force everyone to try cramming (and then waiting in line to cram) under what cover there is whenever it rains.
This is almost as bad as not going ahead and having separate entrances/exits for arrivals and departures instead of creating only a slight improvement by giving them only separate areas.
Looking forward to the bajillion extra power outlets though.

It seemed so to me too. I mean once glance at the overhead map view shows the terminal literally adjacent to the runways if not even a bit closer than the old set up.

Looks super nice and was a much needed upgrade for the NOLA. Can’t wait to fly out of there.

The awning between the old terminal and garage was added on.
Traffic wasn't backed up to the Veterans exit. The toilets flushed. Security functioned as normal. Car rentals didn't take hours. All was good, except a possibility that the covered drop off area is too small and a rap concert in the lobby.
