Nice area but one street from crack houses
That's Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Ruston, Birmingham, Memphis, and just about any other city in any state in the South East.

A few years ago they had to suspend mail delivery on Clanton street because there was so much lead flying.

Shreveport's South Highland neighborhood
I guess South Highland has an opposite meaning in Shreveport.

People in South Highlands don’t consider that to be south highlands. It’s a little ghetto block by I 49.
Still though. I think we’re on like 21 straight days of some sort of shooting incident.
We’re seriously considering moving back to Huntsville. Shreveport’s concerned more with saggy pants than anything else.

I'm sure this is somehow the fault of white people

I would imagine there arent a handful of postal workers killed in the line of duty in U.S. History

If that is mailman the poster, I am ok with it.

Well the suspect is a white dude, so it’s certainly is the fault of at least one white person

Where did you see that? Everything I see says two suspects with no other details given...

I don’t remember exactly. The neighborhood pages have been posting info non stop about this. I’m sure I read it on some report posted there.

That's not South Highlands - though it is not far north of the southern boundary of South Highlands (Ockley Drive) and its is decidedly not a nice part of town and has been a drug and property crime ridden area for around 30 years. Makes it no less tragic, but it is not an area you'd want to casually cut through without paying attention to the surroundings for sure.

Not sure if it's still the policy in N.O. since Katrina, on check days delivery was done in pairs in the projects.

If that isn't South Highlands then it sure isn't far from it. You could walk half a mile from there and be walking past $500k+ homes.
