I know trucks are popular on this board, but this is a sedan question, for those who have an opinion: Would you prefer a new, loaded Camry or a three-year-old Lexus GS 350 with 40k miles? Assume the prices are comparable, and the buyer's priorities are reliability, comfort, and fuel efficiency. Thanks so much.

Lexus. A gs300 is older than 3 years though.

Why stop at the GS. Go a little older and get an LS 600L. You can find older ones with low miles.

Just looked on Autotrader. Price Leblanc has a ‘12 with 37k miles for $29k.

Is that before or after they screwed up the front end of the GS300?

If it’s after, my vote is for a Honda Accord. The new Camry’s are fugly.

Definitely the Camry only because 40k is a pretty hearty amount of miles. Camry’s have a legacy of lasting until every bolt falls off. I know Lexus and Toyota are the same, just the Camry has that legacy. Plus you will get a warranty with the Camry just in case.

Look at a certified used ES-350. It's what I have now and it's the most comfortable ride. My mom has a GS and I'd say my car is more comfortable (and it has better MPG). It's reliable as hell and it gets around 30 on the highway and 23 in the city. It's the best car I've ever had. I won't get another car until I can afford to buy one in cash.

This is a 2017 model

What does “loaded Camry” mean? Comes with a bike rack and extra pride stickers?

I wouldn’t spend 35K on anything to drive 70 miles a day. Your value will fall off a cliff in a year.
