His name is Samuel Little, and over the last year and a half he has confessed to 93 murders. That's more than were committed by Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer combined. No one would have known the scale of Little's crimes if not for a Texas Ranger who had a hunch. Little had never confessed to anyone about anything, but over the course of 700 hours of interviews, Ranger James Holland coaxed the 79-year-old into revealing his life's work.

CBS News - How a Texas Ranger convinced serial killer Samuel Little to confess to murdering 93 people

quote:

Little has confessed to 93 murders, and FBI crime analysts believe all of his confessions are credible. At least 50 of those confessions have been verified by law enforcement agencies around the country.

Because of the number of victims Little says he killed between 1970 and 2005, he is considered one of or perhaps the most prolific serial killer ever arrested in the U.S.

According to the FBI, many of the deaths were originally ruled as overdoses, accidental deaths or were from undetermined causes. Little says he strangled his victims.

The FBI New Orleans Field Office has released new information regarding the alleged 1982 murder of a New Orleans woman in the Little Woods community of New Orleans East by prolific serial killer Samuel Little.

quote:

During a recent interview with 79-year-old Samuel Little, he indicated in approximately 1982, possibly in the autumn, he met a black female in New Orleans.

He described the woman as approximately 30-40 years old, 5'8"-5'9" tall, weighing 160 pounds, with "honey-colored" brown skin and medium-length straight hair. He remembers she was wearing a pretty dress with buttons on the front. Little said they met in a club where she was attending a birthday party with a group of friends and one of her two sisters. Little left with the woman in his vehicle, a Lincoln Continental Mark III.

The woman told Little she lived with her mother, who was sickly and possibly an invalid. The FBI says that this specific information may help them positively identify her.

The woman also gave Little the keys to her house. Little drove the woman to the Little Woods exit off I-10, where he turned down a dirt road along a canal which was being dredged. They exited his car, then Little pulled the woman towards the canal, where he killed her and left the body. Afterward, Little drove back to the motel where he was staying in Pascagoula, Mississippi.

I find it nearly unbelievable that a sick frick can remember so vividly his kills from decades ago.

Not impossible but it seems unlikely he could be throwing out correct details on nearly 100 kills. He must have been keeping journals of this shite.

When they talk to old MLB players about specific games they can tell you what pitch they were thrown in what count 30 years later.

Memory is a weird thing.

Back in June when he was only at 60 killings.

He's been making sketches of many of the victims.

Interesting he drew all of their mouths with a frown.

Dude does not have a trustworthy face. Even outside of that, how anyone thinks giving a stranger the keys to a house after meeting him at a bar was a good idea probably was going to get taken advantage of one way or another.

I wonder why he has a leftward lean in his older mugshots.

He looks similar to Jordan Peele as a younger man as well.

You should watch Mind Hunter on Netflix. It dives into this a little bit. Excellent series

quote:

James Holland: The first thing I picked up on is how wicked smart he was.

Sharyn Alfonsi: Smart?

James Holland: Oh, like genius. Yes, absolutely.

Sharyn Alfonsi: Why, why do you say that?

James Holland: Oh, well, number one, you know, the photographic memory, his memory for details. You know, like, Sammy, tell me what's around her? There's three tombstones over there. There's a caliche road. Drive down a quarter of a mile, there's a white Baptist church that needs to be whitewashed. Phenomenal.

For example, Little remembered unusual arches close to the spot where he killed a woman outside of Miami. Sure enough, when Miami detectives investigated, they saw the arches. Little had strangled Miriam Chapman near those arches in 1976.

What is creepy to me is his detail for memory on all these. It's like he thought about it all everyday for decades.

I cant even remember how many girls I've fricked, sure couldn't draw a detailed picture of each one.

In my younger days I was an avid deer hunter. My brothers are still and they have killed hundreds of deer. I bet they can recall almost every kill. I don't know why but the memory of these kills stay in your mind. I can understand how killing a person would be even more memorable.
