What new hobbies have you recently picked up and enjoyed that you have never done or tried before?

Looking something to break up the monotony in my daily life.

I have a number of things I enjoy doing, but not sure if I consider them a hobby. Posting on here, watching sports, sometimes I will draw/design something (just put ideas for a house together, etc). I read, every now and then I will go through all my shite and throw away things I thought was a good idea to keep at the time but no longer need.

I've been making pens recently. Haven't sold any, but they are fun to make.

Here are 2 that I've made that I brought to work.

I like that wooden one. Are you using a lathe?

I bought a kayak within the past year or so.

It's pretty relaxing to go paddle around your local lake or bayou.

Not much skill required other than being able to swim if you tip over!

How do you make pens? That's cool. I love anything with a logo.

Flipping shite on eBay/craigslist. I like to dabble in golf equipment and sneakers. It’s not lucrative but I enjoy it and make money which is nice because all my other hobbies cost money.

edit: why the downvotes baws? Is flipping trashy?

I have been making knifes as a hobby. I am getting very good at making the blade, still need work on the handle.

I oversee a manufacturing facility so I have a surplus of spare metal pieces and plenty of tools to work on them with. It is a fun hobby, and I only do it for fun.

Reading/Book Clubs... it can be done alone but also has a social option/aspect

Volunteering... help others while meeting like minded people

Planting/Gardening... tons of options like beautifying your own yard, growing your own food, flower arranging, bonsai, etc.

A great place to find new hobbies interests is Adult Ed or Community Ed classes at a local college.

ETA: Displaced, those pens look amazing

most of these things can be done daily as just "life" in general aka, not a hobby
