For all those that enjoy Dan Carlin's podcasts, a new one called The Celtic Holocaust came out today.

I love that I live 5 minutes away from work

But whenever a new hardcore history comes out I wish I had a one hour commute

Julius Caesar is our travel guide as he takes us through his murderous subjugation of the native Celtic tribal peoples of ancient Gaul. It sounds vaguely like other, recent European colonial conquests…until the natives nearly win.

I'm on the last episode of Death Throes of the Republic, so that's a great topic to come out at this time.

This. Though it's a total pain in the arse listening when you're stuck in BR traffic because of all the stop and go. I couldn't do it because I couldn't pay enough attention to the podcast.

I knocked out the lion's share of Countdown to Armageddon on long interstate trips. You're actually disappointed to arrive at your destination.

I'd really like him to do one on the Napoleonic Wars. I'm woefully understudied on that period and don't have the motivation to read about it.

Folks sure love to go out of their way to let people know they listen to this podcast

"Hey look at me!! I LOVE history. So fascinated by it. That's just the kind of refined intellectual that I am"

Dude, it's a history podcast, not philosophy or neuroscience. Check your micro insecurities, bro.

When I found out it had come out this morning, I was excited. When I found out it was about the Gallic Wars, I wet myself. One of my favorite periods in history. Caesar's de Bello Gallico is fantastic and Vercingetorix is fascinating.

I visited Bibracte a couple years ago in France. What an incredible people and culture. Very excited for this one.

ETA: was that look at me enough for you, Grim?
