Surprise! It was extremely effective, yet again

LINK

quote:

The French physician & microbiologist who conducted the original study showcasing the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine & Azithromycin has just completed another clinical trial with 80 patients.

RESULTS:
-93% tested negative in 8 days
-97.5% had no virus in lungs after 5 days

It's becoming increasingly clear this can be treated quite easily in the outpatient setting like most bacterial infections before major complications take place. This wouldn't just flatten the curve. It would steamroll it.

THIS CANNOT WAIT... Republican governors have to take the lead on this.

We need the defense act to ramp up production of this generic, safe drug in the month of April so that it can be regulated properly in time for the country to be back up and running by NO LATER than May 1st.

The faster we get the word out, the faster we get back to everyday life.

We should just take the findings of the French study and roll with it

But we operate in such a silly fashion that we feel like we also need to validate it on our end

Use it as a form of treatment NOW to get a bigger sample for a controlled trial

The NY trial with 600 patients apparently looked promising as well according to Rudy Guiliani

Those results will be released by tomorrow. Certainly think if they're positive, Trump is going to whip out his dick and demand Hydroxychloroquine production immediately to shut these democratic governors up

Doctors were writing prescriptions of this for themselves, their family, and friends, and pharmacists refused to fill them.

Yeah so I feel like we need a month, not only to ramp up production but, to regulate who gets treatment (both symptomatic and prophylactic)

1) Doctors, Nursing and Staff who work at hospitals. Everyone gets it if they are medically cleared.

2) Those who regularly take it for Lupus and rheumatoid arthritis

3) Nursing homes everywhere in the US outside of those individuals who have recovered

4) COVID positive patients who are symptomatic

5) In states which show there is community spread, anyone with fever above 100 and dry cough for at least 3 days. At this point, you can just presume you have it based on the presentation since it has spread so extensively.

This is a generic drug. It can be mass produced because no pharma company has exclusive rights to it.

People were doing this and it was creating a shortage for people who regularly take the drug for Lupus and other issues.

You can still get the drug in Nevada the governor just limited availability to hospitals for this reason.

Psst, pro-tip. You can get this compound straight from aquarium cleaner. Big pharma just wants you to buy from them at huuuge mark ups. Don’t be a sucker.

You can read the study here: LINK

One thing to note:

quote:

Only 15% of patients were febrile. Four patients were asymptomatic carriers. The
majority of patients had a low NEWS score (92%)

Out of the 80 patients, 74 had a low NEWS score, which means they would ordinarily be told not to come to the hospital and instead stay at home and recover. Additionally, only 12 had a fever.

At the end of the study, 1 died, 1 remained in the ICU, and 13 others remain in the hospital. With a 1.5% mortality rate for all positive tests (what we currently see in the US), you would expect an average of 1.2 fatalities for every 80 positive tests.

Still interesting, but we use randomized controlled trials for a reason.

So a prophylactic perhaps?

Could we potentially call this a "vaccine lite?"

Can we make enough pills for that purpose?

I mean, it could still be really useful. My point was, nothing in that study seemed to definitively distinguish the drug combo from giving out sugar pills. This is a disease which 98% will recover from. So if you take a group of 80 people, and give them all m&m's, the vast majority will be cured. That doesn't mean your m&m's did shite, it just means the vast majority of people get over this.

edit: when the controlled trials taking place in NY start putting out results, we will know what the real deal is. Hopefully it really does make a difference.

True, we are talking about at this time a super minority of infections of a super minority of people.

No, it needs to wait on another independent study or two. Your obsession with a political party taking the lead on this is telling

If this is a cure why single out states with Republican governors and boil this virus down to politics? You seem just as bad as the people on the left that you claim do the same thing.
