I haven’t noticed much of a difference at all when it comes to my energy bill. But ok.

Make an exception for LNG and cap Jones Act damages for seaman. Win win for everyone.

Lol...yall funny! Southern transplant to New England here and not one single frick is given about this by anyone I know because sustainable wood or wood pellets are everyone's primary heat source. Gas is secondary if they even have it. My cabin has both and I haven't used my gas in 3 years. You can bet your arse I will continue to vote to keep pipelines out of my wilderness and knuckle dragging mouth breathers out of public office.

I'm pretty sure sustainable wood is an oxymoron.

Maybe they should just buy electric heaters…

Did they not watch the debate where Biden said he wants to end the fossil fuel dependence & transition from it? This is the results of that. Idiots.

Wait till they follow CA and restrict wood burners...
I mean they love following CARB...

Thank you for reminding me to expedite the wood stove purchase for the barn build.

Are you saying that current New Englanders voted for the Republican that introduced the Jones Act and the Republican majority House and Republican majority Senate that passed it more than 100 years ago?

You would think that charity would begin at home?.?.?.?that American fuel would go to American ports,” Joe Nolan, chief executive of Eversource Energy, told the FT in an interview. “We’re going to have to compete just like everybody else — in the global market.”
How about not allowing union labor to make operating a refinery untenable with all the environmental and legal bullshite that drives up costs or allowing pipelines to deliver NG from all of the shale and fracking fields to your infrastructure?

That perfectly describes Biden and Fetterman.

At least they can rest easy knowing that they don’t have to deal with any more mean tweets. Small price to pay for that comfort and peace of mind

I believe you

Wait. Jones Act has been around for quite awhile right?
So, it’s not the Jones Act but the energy policies of the bonehead most of them voted for that is the issue.

The Jones Act can be waived, that's not what is causing high energy prices.

Oil heat is ubiquitous in the US Northeast, with 82% of households using oil as their primary energy source, which amounts to 5.5 million residents. In addition to the residential use, 35% of commercial fuel oil use is also in the Northeast
Hope you have to burn your L.L. Beans you sack of shite.

Unfortunately, this is one of those situations where "you get what you vote for" doesn't fit as neatly as most assume.
I think about a third of homes in the Northeast use heating oil and a lot of these are concentrated in the exurbs and rural areas where people tend to vote red (outside of Vermont, which is pretty blue throughout). The cities and liberal enclaves have been updated with natural gas lines and more efficient energy systems but the folks upstate are stuck with old furnances and oil tanks.
Considering these people may be paying an extra $1000/month to heat their homes now that the lunatics are running the asylum, it may be time to start thinking about moving south. The weather ain't gonna change and neither are the Democrats. It's got to suck to walk away from the town and friends you have lived your whole life with but I don't see how average folks can continue to shell out an extra $1000 in taxes and an extra $1000 in energy bills every month just because the Bernie Bros are on the rampage.
