We've been waiting on this bridge forever. If Trump can get this thing underway while still in office, he deserves the naming rights

If you don’t like this the only reason is bc of your demented “orange man bad” or “trump mean” BS then u are a fool. No one has ever gotten this politically corrupt state off the ground. This would make living in BR 100x better due to the traffic help. I’m all for it lol

I moved here 25 years ago and have heard this probably once a year.

Wouldn’t need a loop, with a newer bridge.

If it ever happens Trump won't be alive to see it, hell neither will I or most on this board.

You sure about that. Another bridge to nowhere if it is not tied into other major thoroughfares on either side. LA-1 may count since it is a four lane divided highway, but LA 30 is only 2 lanes and already at near max capacity.

So connecting any new bridge with I-10 would be a must even if it is a 4 lane right of way with only 2 lanes constructed until more funding arrives and DOTD limiting access to the road to create turning points that hinder traffic. Bridge still needs to be a minimum of 4-6 lanes.

Connect to Hwy 415, the newer bridge south of LSU. Strait shot to I-10, around Gonzales. Folks using the newer bridge, would hit LSU and I-10 to NOLA. The existing bridge, downtown BTR and I-12.

Thoughts?

Makes sense to me.

Trump should announce a new interstate funding mechanism so it gets named after him like the Eisenhower Interstate System. He could use the tariff money to fund it. That way every road built with that money will have his name on it.
