Serious question here, the legal limit of .08 is so easy for most ppl to cross could a bar actually make a profit if it strictly kept ppl under it?

So... open bar? Welcome to tigerland...
Well in this bar, the girls have to be fat to drink a lot
In tigerland you drink a lot to forget how fat the chicks you’re talking to are.

The goal of a bar is to keep people there longer so they keep buying drinks.
A concept that puts how long the patron has been at the bar at top of mind is the exact opposite of what you want.

A sneaky way to charge an exorbitant cover and allow you two drinks an hour.

It’s not gonna be that sneaky and it’s not gonna work

I know an old baw that could single handedly put them out of business.

Fred's has been doing this for decades.
Never ceases to amaze me how people from other schools think free drinks at Fred's is such a weird/novel concept.

Decent idea, but the execution of it seems pretty bad

Sounds like a stupid bar.

Yeah, I’d rather go to Giger Bar.
That thing in your drink? It ain’t a roofie.

So what's lost on me in all of this is the WIIFM. The appeal would be, hey, I can get a really good deal on a decent amount of booze. But they've clearly planned to prevent that...so it's just a regular bar where I can't drink at my own pace and the whole process is overly complicated, and where people who may not be drinking will not want to go because they don't want to pay $10 an hour to sip water? Awesome.

bartenders will scan everyone's driver's license and "use a patron’s height and weight" to ensure that they're not drinking too much,
As someone who has had many bartenders stop serving me cause I had "too much", it's not a great way to keep customers happy.

So I finish my drink, I didn't guzzle it, but drank it fast. Then, when I go to order another one, I get denied. Yea, have fun with that.

Besides low end MM and EC it's a shite liquor list.

I'd love to pay $10 an hour to have a bartender babysit my consumption.
