the placement of law enforcement on campuses as a proactive measure are pretty inefficient compared to the burden on the taxpayer

we need to teach all our teachers judo

But people on this board want more government intrusion to protect the children when the protocols in place now doesn't get followed.
i would guess the difference is between federal and local agencies

not sure why anyone puts faith in the federal govt

Anyone notice how useless the FBI seems to be? What are they actually stopping/doing all day?

He was reported for saying. "I'm going to be a professional school shooter"

There is nothing incriminating about that statement. He's not making a direct threat. He's just using his right to free speech no matter how disturbing it is

This tip was in addition to the YouTube comment. Did you even read the OP at all?

And on top of that, the FBI already admitted they didn’t follow the protocol for this tip, so I’m not sure who/what/why you are even white knighting over this

FL Gov Rick Scott just told the FBI Director to resign

Then Sessions followed up saying "serious issues occurred within the FBI here" and ordered an immediate investigation.

FBI frickED.

It's worthy of an FBI visit, at the very least. That doesn't require anything other than reasonable suspicion. No rights violations.

Free speech doesn't mean there won't be consequences.

What more did they want for this to be a major red flag??? Someone close to the shooter saying the guy wanted to kill people and had the potential to do just what he did. Forget all of the other things that might be done, them following up would have been the best way to prevent this with things as they currently are.

How are they not related? Locally they tell us money is the reason we have limited police presence in our schools.

We have money to.protect other countries but can protect our children at home?

Don't like the Korea example then pick another country? Or how about the influx of migrants we dish out shiloads of support and protections for and we can develop a means to protect schools?

So, the Federal Bureau of INVESTIGATION shouldn’t investigate at all? Got it.

Try reading the OP maybe? This is completely unrelated to the YouTube comment. That was the one where the guy used HIS NAME as his user name but the FBI didn't have any indication of who he was. In my world they call someone's name a "clue" but the FBI couldn't work with that.

THIS TIME is completely unrelated and was a "person close" to the shooter who gave very specific information regarding him making direct threats and having access to firearms. FBI said "nah, we busy" and didn't do anything about it.
