Border collies do not normally bark. Since they are sheep dogs, barking is not something you want went herding sheep. I said that in an odd way, but I guess you get the drift./

My sister has a 13 year-old minature Daschund male. It's four qualities are smart, mean, mean and mean. It never forgets it's specific disposition towards individual humans for bad (about 96% of the time) or tolerence (the other 4% of us).
Beautiful dog and it is loyal to her but I'll be thrilled when it passes so she can get a normal dog. He's a bad instance of what is usually an OK breed.
Her's is hung up on eradicating frogs. Goes crazy searching them out and dispatching them. Who knew a dog would even care?

lol mine hates people in the house. I am anti-social so I like that. That said he loves me and my wife.
Mother in law came over and started making too much noise and got sniped - I said bad dog, but my heart said good job buddy

I know, I had talked to his vet about it. But other BCs I've been around bark at least every now and then - Thanksgiving was literally the first time he'd made a noise other than a whine.
