There's much more technical trails near Ouray. The trail between Telluride and Ouray that goes through Tomboy is amazing but the pass is only open a short time due to the elevation and snow accumulation.

From the summit to bridal veils is down only I think. From BV down to Telluride it can be two way.
That road is about as scary as any I’ve been on.

For sure this a-hole was going the wrong way. He's lucky this was his outcome. There was a couple around 15 years ago that fell off the trail in a jeep when going up (wrong way).

Just push that pos down the side of the mountain and open the road.

Imagine what it was like before they widened it.

My question is why is the drivers side door open, F that I'm crawling out the passenger side.

This is driver error not vehicle insufficiency...look at the pics...they just drove off the side of the trail
It’s both. I love that pass but it’s a Jeep only road pretty much.
OP a F-250 would be to long of a wheelbase to make a lot of the switch backs. It’s a challenge on a jeep.

that portion is one way
So anyone coming the other direction needs to turn around and go back before this part?

The Kia got stuck at about three to four switchbacks past the falls when the driver managed to get his wheels off the side of the road, leaving the car unstable.

Second time my wife and I vacationed in Silverton we rented a Jeep on went on several of the trails . Rarely needed the 4 wheel drive , used 4 low going downhill .
Next few times back I just used my Chevy S-10 Blazer in 2 wheel drive only. If you really know how to drive it isn’t a problem, take your time and enjoy the mountain air.
M only problem is that I want to stay there and not come back to looseiana.

Based on that pic I’d reckon ol baws arse bit a hole in that Kia seat.

Not gonna lie. Did a late July vacation in early 70s with friends of my parents. We had to go up on the upslope side at about a 40 degree angle so an open top tour jeep could come by. Nobody in our jeep breathed. Out of Lake City headed towards Animas Pass.

Looks like a nice drive. Does a wife bitching and screaming about driving too close to the edge come standard or is there an extra charge?

That descent through the rough bit will pucker your butt hole in a well built rig
