Wasn't this burglary you mentioned explicitly one in which they waited for the home to be vacated?

Happened to me while in college at LSU on Brightside. Same time of morning & in a subdivision. I was out of town right before the semester started. Roommate had some hussy sleep over and he left our garage open the night before.

She leaves early in the morning and doesnt wake him. Within 15 minutes of her leaving a black SUV with tinted windows and covered license plate backs into our garage and steal every electronic we owned and also my schoolbag full of textbooks I had just bought prior to the semester starting. They did the same to my roommate. Even stole his cellphone from under his pillow he was sleeping on. Dumb frick was passed out cold.

That ho he had over probably drugged him. Fortunately its probably the worst thing that ever happened to me. Bugged the shite out of me for the next year until I finally kicked the guy out.

Security cameras from neighbors got the SUV on camera. Called the cops showed them the tape and remember after it happened we were looking on craigslist and what not trying to see if robbers were selling our stuff online and even met up with someone selling a phone matching description of one stolen. Pretty unsafe but we felt like the cops in the BRPD burglary division weren't doing enough.

I lived in LA for 30 years. It's politics and religions are rot. We knew it in the 80s. Brain drain is not new. We were leaving in the 80s. Every day there is a new thread complaining about the "deterioration," in BR. What are you doing about it besides blaming black people.

In Colorado, a born again school board was recalled with extreme prejudice when they wanted to teach bullshite. That's the difference from LA. Color is immaterial. That's where I would raise my children.

I saw all the hatred, racism, and ignorance first hand. The state is steeped in it.

I was fortunate to find employment with a Fortune 50 company that offered me the opportunity to leave Louisiana. As well as the chance to learn to thrive in a sophisticated professional atmosphere. I got lucky.

I lived near Nashville for several years. They have a choice for Senator between born again, young earth creationist Marsha Blackburn, or a proven administrator with a science background (physics I think). Which do you think has the better future?

It’s not the uncle Phil’s of the neighborhood that cause a problem

It’s when their troubled nephews move in

Who cares if a potential Senator has a science degree? I care about stances on issues and I happen to disagree with the left on about 90% of them.

Did you get diddled by a Catholic priest as a kid or something? Other people's religious choices really seem to rustle you jimmies

Honestly, people put too much into race. Poverty is the bigger problem. Blacks have a poverty rate at 26%-28% or something like that. White people it's about 10%/

325,000,000 in America. 76% white = 266,000,000. 13% black = 45,500,000.

10% of 266,000,000 is 26,000,000 poor white people in the US.

27% of 45,000,000 is 12,150,000 poor black people in the US.

Most poor blacks live in urban areas. Most poor white people live in rural areas.

Anyone watched that Lisa Ling show Sunday night? It was about the meth problem in Oklahoma (Oklahoma is considered to be the crossroads of meth trafficking and has one of the highest rate of meth users in the country).

It was mostly poor white people and I think some native Americans. But these people steal cattle to get money to feed their habit. In these smaller towns, there isn't any type of turf wars because there is one person who is getting product from Mexican cartels and selling it. There is no middle man.

In the urban areas, it's like the Italian Mafia in NY circa 1990s. Most of the crime is about territory. Drug gangs fighting over turf.

Why do places like North Baton Rouge get the way they are? At one time that area had a lot more white people. One or two black families move in and white people bail then eventually the house prices drop and it attracts the riff raff and it goes from there.

Also, I do think politics in the Southeast is the cause of a lot of it's problems. The Southern states are at the top of the list when it comes to education, poverty, quality of life, etc..

People are more worried about abortion issues and whether or not the word god is allowed in public schools than they are anything else.

Don't get me wrong, I am from the South, I am proud to be from the South, but I am going to be realistic about issues.

Either way, how the frick did this thread go from some dude's neighbor's house getting robbed to politics in the southern states?

Single parent homes play a large role in the poverty discrepancy. 75+% of black kids vs about 25% of white kids.

Poor black people commit violent crimes at far higher rates than other races, something like 7-8x. I don't even see how that's debatable.

West Virginia is the poorest state in the country and has about the 32nd murder rate among states.

You must mean the elitist Yankee from New Jersey that made his fortunes in pharmaceutical and healthcare insurance?

He considers himself more sophisticated than the voters he's trying to reach, but that he does feel plugged in to their world.

What I am simply saying is that crimes in general happen more in cities and since most poor black people live in urban areas they are more likely to commit crimes. Them being black has nothing to do with it. They fact they are poor and uneducated living in areas where there are more people who are closer together is why they commit crimes.

If you put poor white trash in inner cities, they will do the same thing. If you look at a trailer park filled with white trash, there is a lot more criminal activity going on there than a neighborhood of middle class people.

Like I said, Italians were responsible for much of the crime in NY before the 1990s. Did their specific race play a factor in that?
